HONOLULU (HI Now) - Kuilima Farm is managed by Pono Pacific Land Management and owned by The Ritz-Carlton O’ahu, Turtle Bay. Its 468 acres of ag land is protected in perpetuity under conservation easement thanks to the North Shore Community Land Trust. This farm-to-resort experience offers guests at The Ritz-Carlton O’ahu, Turtle Bay seasonal produce grown right across the street and as well as guided educational tours around the model farm behind its roadside farm stands full of fresh goodies, which are favorite snack stops for residents on their way to the beach. Restaurants at The Ritz can use seasonal produce grown directly across the street at Kuilima Farm, which is also home to nearly one million bees and harvests its own honey in partnership with Hanai Hives. The roadside farm stands—open daily— feature Kuilima Farm goods as well as partner farmers selling their fresh produce to visitors and residents, which include coconuts, tropical fruits, seasonal crops like corn and watermelon, shave ice, and local baked goods. The Kuilima Farm Stand also features unique, made-in-Hawai’i products that make for the perfect travel gifts to take home. Visitors can book a guided walking Farm Tour where they learn about the traditional Hawaiian ahupua’a land division system and farming; explore the native plant garden at the piko (center) of the farm and go on a scavenger hunt; plant ‘ilima, kalo, or ti leaf; and sample farm fresh goodies at the end of the tour.
