HONOLULU (HI Now) - Project Dāna is an organization dedicated to supporting kūpuna (elders) and their family caregivers by promoting well-being, independence, and dignity in an environment of their choosing. Inspired by the Sanskrit concept of “dāna,” meaning selfless giving, the program unites volunteers across diverse religious, cultural, and social backgrounds in service to the community.

The organization achieves its mission through:

  • Volunteer Matching: Connecting kūpuna with volunteers who assist with non-clinical services and activities.
  • Caregiver Support: Offering training, counseling, and support to family caregivers.
  • Education: Providing resources and guidance on aging and disability-related issues.

Project Dāna exemplifies compassion and inclusivity, fostering a network of care and community for kūpuna and their families.
