HONOLULU (HI Now) - On average, 1 in 3 small businesses close within the first 10 years of business and American Savings Bank and Hawaii Home+Remodeling want to put an end to that. The Hui Kapili Accelerator is a first-of-its-kind program to support the growth and success of small- to mid-sized construction-related companies by providing participants with the business acumen and tools needed to succeed in Hawaii’s competitive market.
There is a tremendous need for affordable housing in our state, as well as to upgrade our aging infrastructure. By investing in the leaders of these construction companies, we are creating a talent pipeline and opportunities for local people to have successful careers in Hawaii so they can stay in Hawaii to help address some of our community’s most pressing issues.
The first Hui Kapili cohort consists of 16 leaders from 10 local construction-related companies, including one from Maui and one from Kauai. Participants will have the benefit of learning from local experts and companies that are shaping and improving our state, such as Stanford Carr, Pro Service, Center for Tomorrow’s Leaders, Albert C. Kobayashi, along with our colleagues from American Savings Bank and aio.
