HONOLULU (HI Now) - Sounds that send shivers down your spine. Tales that delight your imagination. Get ready for Halloween with our collection of classical’s most chilling compositions, songs that have spellbound you since childhood, complete with spirited storytelling by HI Now Daily’s Lauren Teruya.
Reimagine the campfire ghost stories of your childhood with Hawaiʻi Ghost Stories: A Symphony Spooktacular! Performances are on Saturday, October 26 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, October 27 at 4:00 p.m. at the Hawaii Theater.
The program features the definitive sounds of dark and stormy nights, things lurking in the shadows and all things Halloween, including Danse Macabre, Op. 40 by Camille Saint-Saëns, Peer Gynt Suite No. 1: In the Hall of the Mountain King by Edvard Grieg and A Night On Bald Mountain by Modest Mussorgsky.
Whether you’re a seasoned cosplayer or testing out your trick-or-treating getup, your Hawaiʻi Symphony Orchestra invites you to come in costume… if you dare! Participants of the Costume Contest must arrive at the Hawaii Theater early for their chance to win an exclusive prize. Winners in each of our three categories—Keiki, Teens and Adults—will be announced in concert.
