HONOLULU (HI Now) - SCP HILO HOTEL x HAWAII RISE FOUNDATION, in partnership with Keaukaha General Store, Kim & Kids Foundation, Hilo Medical Center Foundation and Haku Collective are happy to announce this year’s Mele Manaka 3 Day FREE Community Event happening during Merrie Monarch Week, on days April 4, April 5, and April 6, 2024 at SCP HILO HOTEL from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
The event will include live music/entertainment, giveaways, and more. The event will provide free cultural workshops as well including lei making, t-shirt printing, coconut hat weaving, paʻi ʻai, fish cleaning, ʻōlelo Hawaiʻi and more! The workshops will be taught by local community members and leaders.
Entertainment and live music will begin on all three days at 9:00 AM.
Thursday’s entertainment will include The Steppas, other performers on Thursday will include Dillon Pakele, Genesis Pua-Kaipo, Komakakino, Lehua Kalima and Shawn Pimental, and Loeka Longakit and ʻOhana.
Friday’s entertainment will include Sudden Rush, The Kipapa Sisters, Halau Hula Ka ʻUlaʻOla, Just Us Band, Dillon Pakele, Brad Watanabe, Kimié Miner and Paula Fuga.

Saturday’s entertainment will include Hoʻaikāne, Dillon Pakele, MEDIA, Lehua Kalima, Shawn Pimental, Weldon Kekauoha, Yukio Kekauoha, Nathan Keola Grace, Wailau Ryder and Kalani Peʻa.
