HONOLULU (HI Now) - Get ready to embark on a culinary adventure like no other as HMAA Presents Keiki in the Kitchen® returns to the historic Bishop Museum on Sunday, October 29, 2023, part of the Thirteenth Annual Hawai’i Food & Wine Festival® (HFWF). This year’s event promises to be bigger, tastier, and more exciting than ever, with a highlight that will thrill young food enthusiasts and their families: the inaugural Kids Foodie Fest—a groundbreaking grand tasting experience designed especially for children.
Kids Foodie Fest is set to captivate the taste buds and imagination of young gourmands, offering a unique opportunity for them to explore and appreciate the world of flavors. This extraordinary event brings together an impressive lineup of celebrity chefs—including Food Network’s Duff Goldman; Relle Lum of “The Great American Recipe” on PBS; Jon Matsubara, winner of Food Network’s “Alex vs. America”; and many more— to craft imaginative and delectable kid-friendly dishes. From savory delights to sweet treats, including exclusive creations from Asato Family and Kālele Eats, every food station promises an explosion of delightful flavors that are sure to excite kids and parents alike.

This year marks the return of HMAA Presents Keiki in the Kitchen family Sunday, just in time for the Halloween festivities. For the first time since 2019, the Festival is organizing its signature community event to attract thousands of attendees, packed with food and fun for the entire family. Kids will enjoy a day of culinary wonders including the Treat Street Scavenger Hunt through pumpkin decorating, kalo ku’i (taro pounding) lessons and many other hands-on activities, unlocking surprises throughout the museum grounds. Shop the future of local food innovation at the Entrepreneurs Marketplace featuring nearly 30 value-added entrepreneurs in the Hawai’i Ag & Culinary Alliance’s From Cottage Industry to Commercial Enterprise program, and their products that celebrate the richness of local ingredients. Guests can also enjoy the Hawai’i Gas Presents Localicious® Recipe Contest Cookoff, Food Product Pitch Fest hosted by Adam Richman, cooking demonstrations, captivating performances and live music!

Admission for HMAA Presents Keiki in the Kitchen is $5 per person (free for infants and toddlers under age Tickets for Kids Foodie Fest, which includes admission to enjoy all HMAA Presents Keiki in the Kitchen activities, are $30 (ages 4-17) and $40 (ages 18+). HMAA and Bishop Museum Members can attend HMAA Presents Keiki in the Kitchen for free*, when they show their membership card at check-in.
