HONOLULU (HI Now) - Central Medical Clinic was founded in 1949 because many Japanese Americans who worked in the sugar plantations received medical care in those closed systems – making there a need for Japanese-speaking medical clinics.
Today, Central Medical Clinic is one of the best primary care clinics in Honolulu, providing pediatric care, primary care, geriatric care, women’s healthcare, and surgical services. They provide specialists who rotate within the clinic to offer an even more robust list of services. These specialists include cardiologists, gastroenterologists, a psychiatric nurse practitioner, and general surgeons who specialize in bariatrics, robotic surgeries, and breast cancer.
In September 2022, Adventist Health Castle’s acquisition of Central Medical Clinic brings together two organizations recognized as top providers of high-quality care and excellent patient outcomes. Central Medical Clinic will provide the same exceptional care at the same location, with an expanded access to specialists from Adventist Health Castle, which will be available at Central Medical Clinic.
The clinic is now part of a network of care through Castle Health Group – one of the top performing physician organizations in the state. This recent acquisition furthers Adventist Health Castle’s goal of expanding access to care beyond Windward Oahu.
