Hawaii Symphony Orchestra presents Harry Potter in concert Calling all Harry Potter fans! HI Now host Rachel Pacarro is joined by Dave Moss as he shares with us details on HSO's upcoming Harry Potter concert! (hnn)

HONOLULU (HI Now) - The Harry Potter Film Concert Series returns to the Blaisdell Concert Hall with Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix™ in Concert, the fifth film in the Harry Potter series. Shih-Hung Young will conduct your Hawai’i Symphony Orchestra (HSO) in performing the magical score live from Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix™ while the entire film plays in high-definition on a 40-foot screen. Performances will be held on Oct. 29 and 30, 2022.

In addition, the HSO in partnership with Gravitas Pasifika is proud to present a performance of The Bach Project, featuring the incomparable cellist Yo-Yo Ma. The concert will be held on Dec. 1, 2022 at 7:30 p.m. at the Waikiki Shell.

For one night only, HSO will welcome Yo-Yo Ma to the Waikiki Shell to perform Johann Sebastian Bach’s six suites for solo cello as part of The Bach Project. In concert with the goal of the Bach Project, this once-in-a-lifetime performance will encourage audiences to explore how culture connects us and helps us to imagine and build a better future for Hawai’i.
