Experience an immersive flower based installation at Honolulu Museum of Art

Sponsored by Honolulu Museum of Art

HONOLULU (HI Now) - The Honolulu Museum of Art’s major fall exhibition is titled Awakening, an immersive, flower-based installation by renowned British artist Rebecca Louise Law, on view from September 17, 2022–September 10, 2023. HoMA’s exciting new, year-long exhibition transforms two of the museum’s second-floor galleries into a vast hanging garden, constructed with the help of local volunteers.

Awakening marks the debut of the internationally renowned British artist in the Islands, who will combine her own recycled botanical materials with newly grown Hawai’i floral specimens and other found materials gathered and strung with the help of local community groups. Reflecting Hawai’i’s unique ecosystem and landscape, this installation will invite us to reflect upon the beauty and fragility of nature in today’s world.
