Southwest Airlines involvement on anti-trafficking in Hawaii

Sponsored by Southwest Airlines

HONOLULU (HI Now) - Southwest Airlines is recognized for their approach in understanding a community, before they ask to be a part of it. Prior to servicing the Hawaiian Islands in 2019, listening to the community and talking story to kupuna was crucial for Southwest to understand what made Hawaii unique. They serve 120 destinations across the country and have taken that approach in each market. While Southwest takes a localized approach, there are some national pillars they focus on such as sustainability, workforce development, civility, and anti-trafficking awareness.

Ho’ōla Nā Pua was one of the first organizations Southwest had met while on island and were impressed with their boldness to talk about the issue of anti-trafficking and provide resources for the hospitality industry.
