Hawaii Pacific University uplifts Pacific Island community through Mana Wahine Fellowship Program

Sponsored by Hawaii Pacific University

HONOLULU (HI Now) - Hawai’i Pacific Universityʻs Mana Wahine Fellowship Program was established in 2021, as a way to support Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander women at the university. The goal of this scholarship and mentorship initiative is to assist Mana Wahine in their higher education goals and their quests to create and sustain healthy communities.

The HPU Mana Wahine Fellowship Program is sponsored by Papa Ola Lokahi, a prominent advocate and supporter of Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities. With their help, six Mana Wahine were awarded $10,000 scholarships and a year-long mentorship from Dr. Kayla Black, DPT, Director of Student Affairs and Dr. Halaevalu Vakalahi, CHS Dean.
