Enjoy delicious, premium locally grown coffee from Ka’u Coffee

Hawaii State Department of Agriculture

HONOLULU (HI Now) - What better way to start your morning than with a freshly brewed cup of Ka’u Coffee! Although they are not as large as other popular Big Island coffee brands, Ka’u brings the heat with their amazing coffee blends.

The owner, John Ah San, started the commercial coffee farm in Ka’u at the request of Senator Daniel Inouye in 1997 after the sugar plantation shutdown. Compared to other Kona coffee brands, Ka’u Coffee offers a milder, sweeter flavor due to the unique soil mixture of the area.

Ka’u Coffee has been given the Seal of Quality from the Hawaii State Department of Agriculture. This means they are a premium, locally made product from Hawaii. Find them at your local farmers market or on their website at Kayamahawaii.com.
