Uncle Clifford Nae`ole is an inspiring figure, sharing the message of sustainable tourism. He’s the Hawaiian Cultural Advisor at the Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua. Kainoa Carlson spoke with him recently to learn from his wisdom.
Uncle Clifford wants visitors to be aware of the history of Hawaii and to invite them to become partners in the future. Educating them about issues facing our state and our people could help them become an ally when we need their support in the future. He also says Hawaii can rejuvenate visitors by connecting them with the ocean and the land. He says, “no task is too big when done together by all.”
