Hawaii State Federal Credit Union is expanding its presence in west Oahu with a new location in Ewa Beach at the Laulani Village Shopping Center. The new branch is the second location that the credit union has opened featuring first-in-Hawaii technology designed to offer new convenient options for you to do transactions.

Hawaii State FCU is committed to being an industry leader when it comes to innovation and technology, which is why the credit union has been able to introduce several unique features in its newest branches.

“Our Salt Lake Branch, which we opened last summer, was really our test lab of sorts to try out new technology and identify better and more efficient ways to service our members,” says Aaron Vallely, HSFCU’s vice president of branch experience. “Here at our Ewa Beach Branch, we’ve taken a lot of the best practices and lessons learned from Salt Lake and used them in developing and designing this location.”

The branch has three Interactive Teller Machines, or ITMs. HSFCU was the first in the state to introduce this technology at its Salt Lake Branch in 2019. These machines allow you to access accounts, make loan payments and transfer funds. You can even withdraw cash in multiple denominations and deposit up to 50 checks at a time, similar to an ATM.

Members also benefit from recent developments in account security with the credit union’s palm vein-based authentication. The reader actually scans the unique vein patterns in your palm and uses it to identify you and call up your account information, safely and securely.

“Members really like the fact that they can simply hold their palm up to the reader to access their information, no need to say account numbers aloud or search for ID cards,” Vallely says. “We also have two interactive touch table setups where members can take a virtual look at our products and services, and have information conveniently emailed to them.”

Hawaii State FCU wants to revolutionize the way it services members, starting with providing them with a number of different options on how they interact with the credit union.

“Whether it’s using an ITM for a transaction, transferring money using our HSFCU Mobile App, or talking to one of our knowledgeable employees about your financial goals, you get to choose how you do business with us,” Vallely explains. “No matter how you’re interacting with us, we want to make sure we’re providing the same high level of service our members have come to expect.”

The branch is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and also offers convenient Saturday hours from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. It offers a full range of financial services – so whether you’re looking for a loan, want to apply for a credit card, open a savings account or even finance a home, the credit union is here to help.
