Co-owners Kathy Keller and Pam Miller-Sofos have been friends for years. The friendship started when Miller-Sofos made a habit of visiting Keller at her own boutique, Hula Moon, in Kamuela on Hawaii Island . “I used to dress her and her mother,” Keller explains. Hula Moon focused on generational clothing, dressing all ages of women. Over the years, Miller-Sofos convinced Keller to open an Oahu boutique, and that’s when Kailua Moon was born.
“Kailua has that hometown-slash-beach resort kind of feel,” Miller-Sofos says when asked why the pair chose the location. “We just like the vibe that it had.”
Kailua Moon is a women’s boutique, offering a wide variety of clothing, accessories, and shoes. From cocktail to business attire or more everyday wear, there’s a lot to see at the little boutique. Both Keller and Miller-Sofos are focused on dressing women based on their body types and lifestyles. It also offers items from all over the world, including India, Denmark, even rafia hats from Australia. Keller’s favorite comes from Peru — cuddly alpacas the boutique calls “therapy animals.” It’s a big hit with the kids!

You’ll also find local selections at Kailua Moon, including jewelry by Hawaii designers like Beth Bohn. The Hawaii Island artist uses natural stones and fresh water pearls to make beautiful pieces.
Keller says the boutique’s personalized customer service sets it apart from the rest. “We get to know our customers and understand their lifestyle then dress them accordingly,” Keller explains. “We choose our clothing to accommodate all body sizes and body types.”
