If you are pregnant or have a newborn baby, it’s important to protect both yours and your baby’s teeth. Dentists say some women are more susceptible to dental problems such as gum disease and tooth decay when they are pregnant. And although you may not see your baby’s teeth right away, dentists advise starting oral hygiene early and seeing a dentist by your child’s first birthday is critical to their health. Oral Health Care Tips for Your Baby
• 1. Clean gums with damp, clean washcloth
• 2. If baby has teeth, gently brush using soft toothbrush
• 3. Do not put baby to bed with bottle
