Oahu bakery serves up uniquely flavored cupcakes
Looking for something sweet for your sweetheart? From cupcakes to cookies, Hokulani Bakeshop has something to satisfy any sweet tooth. Kanoe Gibson sat down with owner Marie Lau to talk about the bakery’s Valentine’s Day specials.
In addition to decorated shortbread cookies, Hokulani Bakeshop serves over 12 uniquely flavored cupcakes daily, including: red velvet, strawberry guava, lilikoi, snickerdoodle, salted caramel, toasted coconut, and chocolate peanut butter to name a few. They of course also have the classics, chocolate and vanilla. The bakery also makes cakes for special events like weddings, first birthday smash cakes, and just because.
While Hokiulani Bakeshop offers a variety of cupcakes, cookies and cakes decorated for Valentine’s Day, they are also able to customize and decorate for any occasion. They accept cupcake orders as late as the day before, however more notice is always better for larger or more customized orders.
Hokulani offers their own in-house delivery service and also partners with UberEats, Doordash, and GrubHub. Orders can be placed many ways: in-store, over the phone, email, and through their website and delivery partners.
Hokulani Bakeshop was started by a husband and wife team, Tushar and Anna Dubey, back in 2005. They grew the business for the next 10 years with a concentration on high quality ingredients and no use of trans fats or oils in their recipes. Lau took over the business in 2016 and remains committed to the same delicious recipes, all made from scratch. The company’s vision? To serve the community by being part of as many island celebrations as possible!
The bakery is located on the street level of Waterfront Plaza in the center courtyard (near the Row Bar) and offers validated parking for customers.
