An introduction for whiskey drinkers

Whiskey lovers, this one’s for you! If you’re like whiskey and are looking to become a little more knowledgeable on the subject, look no further than Whiskey 101 classes offered at Qing Mu. HI Now host Kainoa Carlson is in the kitchen with Jake Lee, the restaurant’s supervisor, to learn more about the specialty class.
“We go through what whiskey is, the different types of whiskey from all over the world, and the characteristics you’re looking for,” Lee says. “We pair a variety of whiskeys with select Qing Mu dishes to show its perfect combination!”
Lee is one of Hawaii’s most sought out whiskey experts and is also the resident whiskey expert for Aoki Group restaurants. He leads several of these Whiskey 101 classes and whiskey themed events.
Qing Mu is an intimate Vietnamese Noodle Bar located in Kaka’ako and created by restaurateur Kevin Aoki. Its mission is to bring the experience of an authentic Vietnamese Noodle shop to Honolulu. In addition to these daily whiskey classes, Qing Mu also has some weekly specials. On Mondays, enjoy whiskey and cigars, but later in the week, wine lovers, rejoice! Your day for specials is Wednesday.
