UH Mānoa fashion show production class presents The Road To Runway: The Fashion Show

Premieres at 8:30 p.m. on K5 and set to livestream on

Sponsored by Fashion Design and Merchandising Program and 3Kai Clothing Company

The 55th Annual Fashion Show at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa titled ROAD TO RUNWAY: The Fashion Show premieres May 10, 2021 at 8:30 p.m. on K5 6 and will livestream on

Due to the pandemic, the Fashion Show Production Students have been challenged to reinvent the fashion show from a live event to 100 percent virtual. Since the fashion show was canceled last year, it was important to the students and the Fashion Design and Merchandising Program (FDM) under the College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources, that the fashion show must go on!

The Students (FDM 430) are producing a two-part docuseries on broadcast television featuring the annual fashion show as well as behind-the-scenes footage and interviews highlighting three senior fashion design students.

The virtual fashion show will feature collections from current fashion design students to include the three seniors, as well as 2020 fashion design student graduates, that have been created over the past year-and-a-half. The runway footage was shot by the fashion design students and fashion production students, all on their smartphones.
