Support local keiki with critical illnesses at 6th annual Jingle Rock Run

Make-A-Wish Hawaii & Par Hawaii Partnership

Par Hawaii is a proud community supporter of Make-A-Wish Hawaii and its mission to grant life-changing wishes to children with critical illnesses. Director of Government and Public Affairs for Par Hawaii, Lance Tanaka, joined host Jobeth Devera on set, along with Make-A-Wish Hawaii Corporate Relations Manager Arden Salassa to talk about this vital partnership and the 6th annual Jingle Rock Run.

Tanaka says Par Hawaii and its employees are proud to be making a difference in the community. “As a Hawaii-based business, Par Hawaii knows it’s the company’s kuleana, or responsibility, to help bring solutions to Hawaii’s issues and not just to make a profit. Our company’s participation in Make-A-Wish Hawaii’s Jingle Rock Run adds sparkle to our giving, and makes it festive for our employees and their families to come out for the run.”

“We are so grateful for Par Hawaii’s continuous support of our annual holiday walk, Jingle Rock Run, over the past few years,” says Salassa. “This event is one of our largest annual fundraisers, bringing together nearly 6,000 community supporters and wish families to walk side-by-side. This year’s event will be on Sunday, December 16. Participants will get to enjoy the Honolulu City Lights, fun keiki activities, including our signature keiki sprint and tons of food!”

About Make-A-Wish Hawaii
Each year, about 100 children across our islands are diagnosed with a critical illness, and it’s Make-A-Wish Hawaii’s vision to reach each and every one of them. These wishes help spark imagination, deliver strength, and inspire hope for keiki and their families when they need it most. The nonprofit relies on the community to make this magic possible. On average, 200 people—from medical referral partners and volunteers to donors and community supporters—will come together to make just one wish come true.
