St. Anthony School Kailua, a small school with big opportunities

Sponsored by St. Anthony School Kailua

Parents looking to give their kids big opportunities have lots of options at St. Anthony School in Kailua. The parish school is committed to nurturing, enriching and celebrating students’ spiritual, academic, moral, emotional and social development. Guided by the parish, with parents as primary educators, and teachers as facilitators, students receive a Catholic education rooted in Gospel values, centered on the Eucharist, committed to faith formation, academic excellence and service.

The curriculum offered at St. Anthony educates the whole child with classes in the arts, as well as technology. Students are encouraged to participate in after school enrichment classes, athletics, and other school activities so that students can try new things, engage in a healthy lifestyle, and serve in the community. Students have the opportunity to play sports, be involved in student government, yearbook, band, choir, or even become an altar server.

The small, private school provides a Christian environment in which students are encouraged to become responsible citizens of the nation and world, conscious of their personal obligations to themselves and to others – enabling them to make correct choices and become contributing members of the larger world community. Students learn respect for God, parents, teachers and each other. Likewise, teachers treat students as individuals, nurturing confidence and self-esteem.

St. Anthony School was established in 1952. The Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet served as the first teachers and the school has been providing a solid educational foundation ever since. As the oldest private school in Kailua, St. Anthony’s has nurtured thousands of students in pre-kindergarten through 8th grade.

The parish school is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and certified by the Western Catholic Education Association (WCEA). St. Anthony students excel in both academic and personal development and graduates are well-received at all major Oahu private secondary schools, including Catholic and non-Catholic high schools.
