Check out virtual Livestream events and Tiny Float Parade
Sponsored by Honolulu Pride
Get ready for Honolulu Pride events starting October 15! Honolulu Pride’s theme for 2020 is “Shaka and Shine,” a great way to virtually share LGBTQ+ love and pride while respecting and protecting our friends, families and community.
In honor of Honolulu Pride Month, the Hawaii LGBT Legacy Foundation will present a special half hour program “Aloha With Pride: Shaka and Shine.” This program, produced by Hawaii LGBT Legacy Foundation and Lei, will share the history of LGBTQ+ culture in Hawaii, profile amazing members of the community who are making an impact, and share diverse voices exploring what “Aloha, With Pride” truly means.
This inspiring and fun local program will be hosted by Matt Guevera and Francine Beppu, with various performances, and the World Premiere of Shaka and Shine, an original song produced by Honolulu Pride and performed by Keilana.
This special program will be broadcast and livestreamed on October 15, 16, 17, and 18.
On October 17, the Honolulu Pride Virtual After Party will live stream on honolulupride.com and its social media channels @honolulupride. Hosted by Candi Shell and DJ My Friend George, it will feature video contributions from Hawaii’s LGBTQ+ community, music and performances, plus a parade of Tiny Floats.
From Oct. 14 – 28, the Hawaii LGBT Legacy Foundation is hosting Rainbow Town Hall, a series of virtual panel discussions. Educators, health care providers, members of the business community and activists on the front lines will discuss how to move forward on critical issues facing Hawaii’s LGBTQIA community: criminal justice, inclusive education, the economic impact of COVID-19, stigma and mental health and safe and stable housing. Panelists will be announced a few days before each discussion. For more information about Rainbow Town Hall event, email Randy Soriano at email@example.com.
