The Royal Kona Coffee Center has been milling and roasting coffee since 1969. Kona coffee is so special because of its delicious flavor and rich aroma that is only unique to coffee grown on Hawaii Island in Kona. Just like fine wine, Kona coffee is distinguished from other commercial blends because of the intricate and tremendous care that is taken throughout every step of the process, which is why Kona coffee is ranked as one of the top coffees in the world.
Kona coffee has a delicate, yet flavorful taste with a rich aroma that coffee-lovers can’t get enough of! It’s considered a high-quality coffee for several reasons: It’s grown on the dark volcanic lava rock slopes of Kona, the coffee cherries are picked by hand, and because of the very intricate process it takes to mill.
The Royal Kona Coffee Center in Kona has been roasting coffee since 1969 and merged with Lion Coffee and Hawaii Coffee Company in 2000.
“It’s been a very popular tourist attraction for the variety of Kona coffee samples and the beautiful Kealakekua Bay,” says President Gerard Bastiaanse.
Hawaiian Kona Coffee is selected from the best of the Kona coffee harvests. These big, flavorful Kona coffee beans are expertly roasted to produce a consistent and truly gourmet coffee when brewed. If you live in Hawaii or have ever visited, you already know the heavenly flavors of the islands! Fresh, creamy coconut ripened on the tree, buttery macadamia nuts, and more.
Royal Kona Coffee offers 100 percent Kona coffees, 100 percent Peaberry Kona coffees and a wide selection of flavored and gourmet 10 percent Kona coffee blends, which can be found in many of the local grocery stores and tourist shops all throughout the state of Hawaii.
