The humble wooden calabash bowls sitting on Hawaii dinner tables for centuries symbolize nourishment and bringing people and cultures together. However, as people’s lives get busier, it’s becoming harder and harder to make home-cooked meals happen. That’s the inspiration behind Calabash meal kits: To help make cooking quick and easy so that you can spend less time cooking and more time doing what you love.
Calabash meal kits are now available at Foodland Farms Ala Moana, where you can mix and match your meals from five main dishes and five side dishes. The kits include flavorful recipes to suit Hawaii’s tastes, and each week, Foodland will introduce a new main and side kit to try. You can choose from a range of local, classic, world and vegetarian dishes, such as Pan-Roasted Thai Lemongrass Chicken, Ginger Chicken Jasmine Rice, Pulehu Steak with Spicy Sambal Hamakua Mushrooms, and Roasted Garlic and Kale Smashed Potatoes.
