Fresh cake donuts with authentic Hawaii flavors
June 7 is National Donut Day, but why not celebrate every day? HI Now host Kanoe Gibson is at Purvé Donut Stop in Kaka’ako checking out its unique offerings and flavors.
Purvé Donut Stop came to be when two bartenders traded in their strainers for a fryer. From the moment you walk in, you get a feel for the shop’s urban, playful attitude. Its cake donuts are hand crafted and made fresh in small batches using the authentic flavor profiles of Hawaii.
Remember drinking Orange Bangs? Now you can have it in donut form with the Umpa Lumpa Wet Dreamcicle, which is an Orange Bang glaze finished off with a cream cheese drizzle. There’s also the Sunburnt Haole, lemon glaze with Li Hing Mui, and even the Ala Wai Tea Bag for those matcha lovers — topped with a Kit Kat.
There’s also a new donut special every week, so don’t forget to ask about that! The shop is open all week from 6 a.m. – 2 p.m., so stop in to get your fix.
