Harvested fresh for weekly orders
Sponsored by Hawaii State Department of Agriculture
Just because you may not be able to get to Kauai doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy some of the delicious farm fresh food the community there has to offer! HI Now hosts Kanoe Gibson and Kainoa Carlson are in the kitchen getting a taste of some of the products Hanalei Taro is able to ship to families around Hawaii and the rest of the country.
Hanalei Taro & Juice Co. is a six-generation family farm that was founded in 2000. Hanalei Taro provides unique family recipes that customers, as well as tour guests, can enjoy. Being a farming family, their daily lifestyle embodies the “farm to table” concept, and it’s reflected in the products that are offered.
By visiting hanaleitaro.com, you can order Farm Fresh Poi, Kulolo, Taro Mochi Cake, Hanalei Taro Burgers, Cooked Taro and more! All you have to do is place your order online weekly by Sunday at midnight. That guarantees your order can be harvested and shipped by Wednesday. Hanalei Taro also delivers across the United States, so you can even gift their products to others online as well by writing a message in the note section.
You can also sign up for free rewards online as well as discounted subscription orders. Be sure to follow @HanaleiTaro on Instagram for new updates and giveaways!
The family also created the nonprofit Ho`opulapula Haraguchi (historic) Rice Mill & Taro Farm tours as a way to increase awareness of the agricultural history of Hanalei and the current taro farming challenges others face today. For the over 35 years, the nonprofit has contributed back to the community by providing free school tours and educational programs to children and kupuna across the state.
