Not only does M by Chef Mavro offer affordable “at-home” gourmet meals, but you can also put together your own fancy meals at home with its CSA boxes and market bags full of local ingredients to make a number of delicious, farm-to-table meals. These change every week, so there’s always something new to try! HI Now host Kanoe Gibson got together with Chef Jeremy Shigekane to get a look at what comes inside a typical box.

CSA boxes and market bags are available for pick up at Chef Mavro Restaurant every Thursday and Saturday between 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. and from 5 – 7 p.m., or on Saturday at De La Mesa Farms in Waimanalo from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

In collaboration with De La Mesa Farms in Waimanalo, M by Mavro offers one CSA box for $125 and it feeds 4-6 people for 7-9 days! The box contains weekly produce from De La Mesa Farms, other farmers and purveyors, and items from M. This could include sauces, marinated fish, local sausages, pasta, or even a house-made loaf of bread or Ulu Cacao Nib Cookies to bake.

The second offering is an M Market Bag that feeds 2-3 people for 5 days for only $60. It includes the weekly De La Mesa Farms produce plus other local farmers and purveyors, M Sauces and house-made bread! It’s themed weekly and both offerings include recipe cards to make delicious M dishes! It’s a great way to have Chef Mavro in the comfort of your home.

You’ll be excited to learn that M by Mavro is planning to reopen its doors to dine in customers come July with a brand-new concept. Get ready for a speakeasy vibe complete with unique drinks paired with delicious bites! One fun drink Chef Shigekane has been experimenting with is a Mushroom Cognac you won’t want to miss!

“We’re also using local fruits and vegetables to make our own syrups and sauces for the cocktails,” he explains. “M is using items such as starfruit and poha berry to rosella, and we’re adding foam and all kinds of fun stuff!”

Even though the restaurant will be reopening in July, it plans to continue offering its CSA items and prepared foods.
