The Amazing Race is a multi-Emmy Award-winning reality series hosted by Emmy Award-nominated host Phil Keoghan. In it’s 32nd season, 11 teams will embark on a trek around the world.

At every destination, each team must compete in a series of challenges, some mental, some physical, and only when the tasks are completed will they learn of their next location and it’s on them to figure out how to get there! Teams who are the farthest behind will gradually be eliminated as the contest progresses, with the first team to arrive at the final destination winning The Amazing Race and the $1 million prize.

This year the program will feature a pair of local boys, Riley and Maddison McKibbin. The pair are well known throughout the local sporting community, as both were star volleyball players at Punahou School, and the University of Southern California. Both currently play on the professional AVP Beach Tour and have gained notoriety both on the volleyball court and the internet.

‘The McKibbin Brothers’ YouTube Channel features nearly 75,000 subscriptions as the duo posts videos of volleyball tips and drills for the everyday volleyball player looking to get better. The YouTube channel also documents the brothers travels throughout the world as the two compete in volleyball tournaments around the globe.

HI Now host Kainoa Carlson spoke with the brothers about their experience on the Amazing Race and what viewers can expect.

“I think it will be entertaining,” said Maddison McKibbin. “The cast is a very diverse group of people, and I think people at home will be entertained.”

The younger McKibbin was much more optimistic then his elder Riley. “I just hope we don’t look like a bunch of bearded blunders,” laughed McKibbin.

The first episode of the Amazing Race will air on CBS at 8:00 p.m. HST. and HI Now will be following along during the journey.
