"If you're fortunate enough to know what you want to do, follow your heart."

Dynamic and outgoing, Patty Lee is a retired geology instructor from the University of Hawaii at Manoa who spent a great deal of her time organizing fundraising, events and field trips for the department. As a retiree, she has been president of ARCS, Achievement Rewards for College Scientists, that raises money for student scholarship funds.
“My father was in the Air Force, and I went to 14 grammar schools that I can remember,” Lee says. “My father sent me to be finished at Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri. I took my first geology class there — I loved it!”
Lee went into the Peace Corps and spent two years at Peace Corps Thailand. Upon her return, she married good-natured, local attorney Danny Lee. A lively personality, Lee is known to have an opinion on any subject.
Patty plays golf at Mid-Pacific Country Club, and never passive, recently arranged lunches for the Jennie K Invitational volunteers. Patty enjoys adventuresome treks. She led her golfing group to search for ancient rocks in northern Arizona, looking at the ancient geologic as well as the recent social history of the region. Patty is planning to march some friends across England from the east to the west coast following Hadrian’s Wall, which was erected by an ancient Roman emperor.
For those seeking advice, Lee has this to say: “If you’re fortunate enough to know what you want to do, follow your heart.”
