From popping boba to foams and jellies
Sponsored by Teapresso Bar
Everybody knows those sweet tapioca balls called boba, but at Teapresso Bar that’s far from the only topping you can add to your drink! HI Now host Kanoe Gibson is with founder and CEO Steve Nguyen to talk about all the add-ons you can have in your tea or coffee drinks.
Nguyen says there’s over 5,000 ways to customize your drink at Teapresso. After selecting a tea, customers can add tea leaves, flavors, milk, and even choose how sweet their drink will be. They can then choose from a number of add-ons like ice cream, espresso, chia seeds, a number of jellies, and of course, several different flavors and sizes of boba.
“We also have the agar crystal boba,” Nguyen says. “It’s a healthier alternative, seaweed-based.” He describes it as having a harder texture in comparison to the traditional tapioca pearl. There’s even three flavors of boba that pop in your mouth — strawberry, lychee, and yogurt!
Similar to cheese foam, Teapresso also recently added its signature Tiramisu foam to the long list of add-ons, and it’s made from scratch daily.
Don’t forget to try all of the exclusive HI Now drinks at any Teapresso Bar across the state! HI Now hosts Jobeth Devera and Kanoe Gibson, along with executive producer Chimaine Pouteau, created their own specialty drinks. The exclusive concoctions include Jobeth’s “Jojo Taro Coco,” Kanoe’s “K-Presso,” and Chimaine’s “Chi-Mango Passion.” Part of the proceeds from these drinks will go to help various nonprofit organizations, including the Hawaiian Humane Society, Susan G. Komen and the Boys and Girls Club of Hawaii.
