Education fairs to take place in September on Oahu and Maui
Sponsored by Hawaii Association of Independent Schools
Parents have a lot of options in Hawaii when it comes to finding the right school for their child, and the Hawaii Association of Independent Schools (HAIS) can help narrow down those choices. The organization will be hosting educational fairs on Oahu and Maui in September where people can learn more about different schools in one place.
Most people don’t realize that there are well over 140 private schools in Hawaii, and 101 of those are HAIS members. The HAIS Education Fairs give parents the opportunity to learn about private school options in Hawaii and to also meet with admission teams from more than dozens of schools on Oahu and Maui. This event gives parents a unique and free opportunity to talk to representatives of many different schools and to have all their education questions answered at one time.
On Oahu, the HAIS Education Fair is on Saturday, September 21, 2019, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Hawaii Convention Center in room 313ABC. Nearly 50 schools will be represented there. The fair will take place on Maui on Sunday, September 22, 2019, from 12 – 4p.m. at the Maui Beach Hotel. At this event, more than 10 schools will be represented.
The education fair also offers guest speakers and keiki activities. Families are encouraged to bring their children, as there are four interactive learning corners, which include activities like robotics and maker spaces. Each school booth also has its own activity for keiki as well as giveaways.
Both fairs are free and open to the public and offer the opportunity to meet with admissions teams from HAIS member schools. Additionally, attendees will be able to engage in hands-on activities and attend informative sessions. All the breakout session times are staggered and the topics include financing a private school education, admissions testing, applying to private schools and admissions pointers for families applying to kindergarten and elementary school.
