HI Now Live music series features Likkle Jordee on August 8

Jordee drops new EP, "Brand New"

Sponsored by Jams World, Surf Line Hawaii & 93.1 Da Pa’ina

The HI Now Live music series continues Thursday, August 8, 2019, at 6 p.m. featuring local boy Likkle Jordee at Shirokiya Japan Village Walk at Ala Moana Center.

Likkle Jordee is a young reggae artist from the island of Oahu. The name “Likkle” is Jamaican patois and derives from the English word “little,” which was inspired by former child MC from the 80’s, Little Harry. “Jordee” was always a childhood nickname.

As a young boy, Jordee’s mother Kimberly Ramirez, a finalist of Hawaii Stars, helped nurture his love of singing. He started songwriting and recording in 2012 and fell deeply in love with old school reggae. He recorded originals on classic instrumentals like Cuss Cuss, Hot Milk, Cool & Deadly, Taxi and much more. In 2014, he was discovered by Tuli Ranks (Isaac Tuli) of NewCatPosse who introduced him to his own personal archive of undiscovered reggae ranging from the 60’s to late 80’s. In 2016, Jordee was discovered by Eli Mac and featured on her latest album, “Tricky One,” on a single titled “Nighttime Session.”

He describes his voice as 80’s dance hall, rub-a-dub combined with modern day style. His talent, wide projecting sound, and unique approach has brought him to perform with big artists such as Westafa, J-Boog and Lauryn Hill. He is now teamed with Kahala Records/Live Animaux Studio & Tantriq Entertainment and continues to create music.

Jordee also just recently released his new EP, “Brand New,” now available worldwide.

Check out the next concert in the HI Now Live music series on September 12th featuring the family band Manoa DNA. Then, coming up on October 10th, catch a free performance by Kauai solo artist Micah G.
