Sponsored by Jams World, Surf Line Hawaii & 93.1 Da Pa’ina
The HI Now Live music series continues Thursday, October 10, 2019, at 6 p.m. featuring Honolulu-born artist Kelandy at Shirokiya Japan Village Walk at Ala Moana Center.
Whether he’s performing solo or with a band, Kelandy is a true entertainer. Having musical influences from soul to reggae, and even pop and rock, Kelandy’s voice has a way of keeping you tuned in from beginning to end. He started with HANG 11 in 2010 and started making waves in the music industry while opening up for acts like The Green, Rebel Souljahz, Common Kings, and Tarrus Riley. Then in 2013, Kelandy formed The Red Light Runners and found themselves playing with acts like Big Mountain, Sammy J, Arradnha and Spawn Breezy. The band then embarked on a five city tour along the east coast.
In 2015, Kelandy took on his first solo project, “Have A Little Faith,” which charted on all the major radio stations in Hawaii. In the following years, Kelandy continued to drop more music: “All Love” in 2016, and “I Found You” featuring Josh Tatofi and FIJI in 2017. Then in 2018, he released his first EP, “Love Revolution.”
This year, Kelandy released his latest single, “Party on the WKND,” which reached number one on several Hawaii radio stations. The artist also just finished a 21 city tour with Maoli, which sold out shows all over the West Coast. Since then, Kelandy has also been featured in major festivals like Aloha in Alaska Music Festival and the Mayjah Rayjah Music Festival.
Be on the lookout for more concerts with talented local musicians during the HI Now Live Music Series in the coming months.
