Try the festive recipe at home!
Halloween is just around the corner, and while the kids have all the fun dressing up and eating candy, this special cocktail is a treat for the adults! HI Now hosts Kanoe Gibson and Kainoa Carlson are in the kitchen learning how to make the Red Rum cocktail from Bartender Ben Flores at the HI Brau Room. And now you too can try your hand at making this festive drink at home!
Recipe – Red Rum Cocktail:
1 Heavy handful of dry Hibiscus flowers
1.5 oz KoHana Kea
1.5 oz Belle de Brillet (you can also substitute with pear juice from a can of pears if you like)
0.75 oz Cinnamon Syrup (equal parts water and sugar in a pot with three cinnamon sticks brought to a boil and set aside to cool)
0.5 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
10 dashes Angostura Bitters
1) Combine ingredients in a shaker tin
2) Shake with ice and strain into a martini glass (or over rocks)
3) Garnish with fresh grated cinnamon.
