Try exclusive poke options at the new store on Oahu's west side

HI Now host Kanoe Gibson and Kainoa Carlson are getting a look at the new poke counter, and then they’re gearing up for a poke showdown with Foodland’s Corporate Chef Keoni Chang as the judge!

The new Foodland Farms celebrates fresh, local products and showcases exclusive items for the West Side’s young, growing and vibrant communities. The store serves as a place to enjoy all your Foodland favorites and must-haves, including freshly fried chicken, new varieties of Hawaii’s Best Poke, and even Calabash Meal Kits by Foodland.
“When you think about Hawaii and Hawaii culture, the thing about poke is that it’s a cornerstone of our existence and our sustenance,” Chef Chang says. “We’re big on continuing to foster and grow the poke culture. We continue to come up with new poke flavors.”
When it comes to poke, you’ll find some exclusive options only available at Foodland Farms Ka Makana Ali’i. These include Salmon Avocado Poke (keto-friendly), Hawaiian Chili Pepper Ahi Poke, and the Mango Jalapeño Tofu Poke — which is vegan!
“In this particular store, all the ahi we use for the poke is fresh, so that’s the commitment to quality that we’re making in this store,” Chef Chang explains.
In the poke battle between the two HI Now hosts, only one came out victorious, and Chef Chang chose Kanoe Gibson as the winner with her sweet and spicy salmon poke bowl!
