Sponsored by The Phantom of the Opera
After nearly 25 years, “The Phantom of the Opera” is coming back to Honolulu in August! Presented by Broadway in Hawaii, the production will give an entirely new generation of theatergoers the chance to see the musical that’s been a global mega hit for over 30 years.
“The Phantom of the Opera” tells the story of a masked figure who lurks beneath the catacombs of the Paris Opera House, exercising a reign of terror over all who inhabit it. He falls madly in love with an innocent young soprano, Christine, and devotes himself to creating a new star by nurturing her extraordinary talents and by employing all of the devious methods at his command.
Tickets for Cameron Mackintosh’s spectacular new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “The Phantom of the Opera” at the Neal S. Blaisdell Center are on sale now. Although the show has the exact same score audiences know and love, along with the costume designs by the late Maria Björnson, guests can look forward to exciting new scenic design, choreography and direction that speaks to people of all generations. The new version will be performed by a cast and orchestra of 52, making it one of the largest productions on tour in North America.
HI Now hosts Jobeth Devera and Kanoe Gibson got a chance to check out the space at the Blaisdell Concert Hall where the famed chandelier is set to fall. One of our HI Now hosts will have the chance to walk out on stage for a special appearance during the show! Help one of them win a coveted walk-on role, and you could win tickets in the process.
