In Partnership with the Southern Weekend

Hawaii Brewery Running Series kicks off at Waikiki Brewing Co. Kaka’ako

Be active. Have fun. Give back!

The Brewery Running Series is coming to Hawaii! The inaugural 2019 Spring season kicks off on Saturday, February 16, with a 5K fun run that starts and ends at Waikiki Brewing Co. in Kaka’ako. Runners and guests are invited to stick around after the course to enjoy their weekend brunch menu!

“Be active. Have fun. Give back!” That’s the motto of the Brewery Running Series. Founded in Minnesota in 2012, the series is all about being active, having fun and giving back to local non-profits and has since raised over $100,000.

A portion of all proceeds for the first event at Waikiki Brewing Co. Kaka’ako will go directly to the Hawaiian Islands Land Trust, a local organization that helps preserve the Hawaiian islands by creating dynamic partnerships between residents, government, and landowners.

Registration fees vary from $27 to $40 and include a craft beer, a choice of a collector’s swag item, raffle entry and an array of giveaways and goodies from community partners and sponsors.  The brewery will be opening their doors early at 10 a.m. on race day, and family and friends are welcome to wait there for runners and cheer them on as they cross the finish line.

The Hawaii Brewery Running Series will be donating to a number of non-profits, including Hawaii Uncharted Research Collective, Mala’ai Gardens Waimea, Kauai Cares and the Kauai Humane Society. The series will also be partnering with organizations such as Lyft, Honolulu Coffee, Kauai Coffee, Big Island Roasters, Ha Coffee Bar, Five Mountain Fitness, Big Island Running Co, CrossFit Hawaii, and Afterglow Yoga.
