In Partnership with the Southern Weekend

Give back to our keiki this holiday season

Sponsored by Kama`aina Kids

Keeping our keiki happy, safe and entertained is what Kama`aina Kids does every day, but the nonprofit can’t do it without your help. President and CEO Ray Sanborn says Kama`aina Kids relies heavily on donations and grants provided by many generous sponsors, including the Weinberg Foundation, Castle Foundation, Atherton Family Foundation and others. Through those donations, Kama`aina Kids provides scholarships and supplies to Hawaii’s keiki. The organization also conducts multiple fundraisers throughout the year at both the A+ and Preschool program sites.

The local 501c3 nonprofit organization is dedicated to serving children, families and the communities by providing quality education and enrichment programs. This includes afterschool programs, the best camping in the state, waterfront activities, ecotourism programs, and accommodations for family and friends to celebrate special occasions.

The Kama`aina Kids Scholarship assists families with $200 per child (Max 2 Children) each month. The organization also provides employees that have children in the program with a Tuition Scholarship Benefit that allows for them to receive between 25% to 75% in assistance based off their tenure with the company.

Kama`aina Kids also works to procure grants (Weinberg & Castle for example) that subsidize tuition costs for qualifying families. It has also partnered with programs such as PACT, DHS & Pauahi, allowing qualifying families to receive assistance. In addition, Kama`aina Kids recently partnered with the American Diabetes Association and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation to provide assistance for children that suffer from Type 1 Diabetes.

Kama`aina Kids is also recruiting for various positions throughout the company. The company is looking for individuals who share the same values as Kama’aina Kids to help perpetuate its mission goals. Whether it’s working with children or helping with the stewardship of two state parks, it has an abundance of positions available throughout the year.
