Sponsored by Hawaii Gas

Looking for some authentic Korean food? Make it a date night in Waikiki and check out Seoul Jung Restaurant, located in the Waikiki Resort Hotel. HI Now host Kanoe Gibson is getting a taste of what’s on the menu with Michelle Hwang, the restaurant’s food and beverage manager.

Seoul Jung offers healthy entrees accompanied by vegetable side dishes made fresh daily by its master chef from Korea. It is the only restaurant with an executive chef who can claim that title! Enjoy authentic dishes such as Eun Dae Goo Mae Woon Tang, spicy butterfish with a fresh vegetable stew, and Kal Bi Jjim, steamed, marinated beef short ribs. The restaurant also features an “All You Can Eat Yakiniku” for $39.95 during its dinner hours.

The best way to eat Korean BBQ? Hwang recommends making a lettuce wrap. First, grab a piece of lettuce, add rice, grilled meat, then some green onion salad, pickled radish, and soybean paste sauce.

At Seoul Jung, you’ll even find three different types of galbi. Its signature being the Dino galbi. Hwang says the most popular would be the wang galbi, which wang means King. The third option is its LA galbi, which is known locally as shortribs.

When it comes to Waikiki, parking can be tricky, but it’s not something you have to worry about during a visit to Seoul Jung. The restaurant provides validation for all of our customers which gets you free parking.

Head down to Seoul Jung and make sure you arrive hungry! It’s open daily for lunch from 11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. and for dinner from 5 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. To make a reservation, call (808) 921-8620.
