Family centers amplify Child & Family Service’s mission in strengthening local individuals

Child & Family Service (CFS) has been touching the lives of thousands of families for more than a century, and 2021 is no exception as the organization continues to provide hope for those in need. HI Now host Kanoe Gibson spoke with President & CEO Karen Tan to learn more.

Sponsored by CPB Foundation and Child & Family Service

The family centers of CFS provides critical resources to local families statewide that not only meets each individual’s need, but also enables all in the family to thrive. Every walk-in, one-stop location offers hope through essential, tailored services: food pantries and clothing closets, information and referral services, financial literacy education and employment preparation, and parenting education and relationship counseling. CFS Family Centers are located on the islands of Oahu, Kauai, Hawaii, Maui and Molokai.

In addition to these statewide family centers, CFS offers programs statewide to families and children and will be airing a special presentation on Hawaii News Now titled, “Hope Shines Through: A Story of Resilience with Paula Fuga.” The TV special will premiere Saturday, May 29, 2021, at 6 p.m. on KGMB with encore airings on May 30 at 6 p.m. on KHNL and May 31 at 8 p.m. on K5.
