Get breakfast all day and $1.50 tacos on Tuesdays
Sponsored by Taqueria El Ranchero
Tacos, burritos, quesadillas and nachos! If you’re looking for authentic Mexican food, take a drive out to Taqueria El Ranchero in Wahiawa and great ready to feast. The restaurant started small in 2015, but has since been growing and raising the standard of Mexican food for the people of Hawaii with expert taqueros and chefs from Mexico and California, where the taco shop concept has been adopted to perfection.
While the restaurant is known for all the classic Mexican dishes you know and love, it also serves breakfast every day starting at 7 a.m. What should you try? The Chilaquiles, of course. “It’s made with fried tortilla chips, it has the green salsa with egg, and then it gets tossed with some cilantro and queso fresco,” says Anissa Whitman with Taqueria El Ranchero. “It’s just a really good breakfast to fill you up before you get your day started.”
Also on your list to try? The breakfast burritos and the Huevos El Ranchero, for sure!
All of the restaurant’s salsas are prepared from scratch. While the selection varies from day to day, there’s always pico de gallo, but you could see Brollo, Ranchero and Mom’s. Mom’s is the green creamy one that everyone asks for, so don’t sleep on it! The restaurant also sells each salsa to-go.
You can’t leave without dessert, and at Taqueria El Ranchero that means it’s time for churros! Whether you eat them plain or dunk them in a champurrado, a thick and chocolaty Mexican drink, you can’t go wrong. The churro batter is made fresh in house and is never frozen. The restaurant also offers flan for dessert, made from a family recipe of one of the staff members. Here’s a pro tip: Just check in on Yelp, and you can get a free flan!
Here’s another sweet deal: Drop by Taqueria El Ranchero on Taco Tuesday and get all-day margarita specials and $1.50 tacos from 6 – 10 p.m. The restaurant also celebrates every week with a mechanical bull in the parking lot. Don’t miss the fun!
