A special four course meal by Chef de Cuisine Colin Sato
Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, so if you haven’t made your reservations you may want to get a jump it! HI Now hosts Jobeth Devera and Kanoe Gibson are in the ktichen with Chef de Cuisine Colin Sato from the Beachhouse at the Moana to get a sneak peek at the restaurant’s special Valentine’s Day menu.
Outside on the Moana’s Beachhouse veranda is the perfect place to enjoy a romantic dinner with someone special. Dinner will be served from 5:30 — 9:30 p.m. and is $120 per person. For reservations, call 921-4600.
Chef Sato will be starting the special four course dinner with a lobster cocktail. Next, guests will enjoy a Seared Hokkaido Scallop, heart of palm vichyssoise, smoked trout roe, and confit heart of palm. This will then be followed by a Smoked King Salmon and finally, a Filet Oscar.
However, dinner is never complete without dessert! Chef Sato is working with Pastry Chef Carmen Montejo to complete the dining experience with her special chocolate and strawberry dessert.
For those looking to pair dinner with wine or cocktails, the Beachhouse offers a great selection of wines and specialty drinks from its Beachhouse Bar. The restaurant’s servers can make recommendations if guests want to pair the courses or if they want to enjoy something fun.
Valentine’s Day menu at the Beachhouse at the Moana:
First Course: Lobster Cocktail – Poached lobster, tomato horseradish coulis, garlic crisps
Second Course: Seared Hokkaido Scallop – Heart of palm vichyssoise, smoked trout roe, confit heart of palm
Third Course: Smoked King Salmon – Confit potato, nueske bacon, roasted cauliflower, red wine soubise
Fourth Course: Filet “Oscar” – Wailua asparagus, pomme puree, lump crab salad, seaweed béarnaise, bordelaise
Dessert: Valentine’s Delight – Vanilla bean sable, strawberry cremeux, strawberry jelly, chocolate glacage, dehydrated coconut meringue, berry coulis, french macaron
