Discover unique, handcrafted items at Ka Makana Ali’i Farmers Market

Ka Makana Ali'i – The Center for West O'ahu

Every Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., you can come experience the Farmers Market at Ka Makana Ali’i in Kapolei and on Sunday, October 19, come celebrate Ka Makana Alii’s 2nd birthday with a Taste of Ka Makana Ali’i event.

Various vendors feature delicious fruits and vegetables, tropical plants and flowers, locally-made treats and prepared foods. You and your ohana can enjoy a stroll through the center as you sample products and discover unique handcrafted merchandise. Stay awhile and enjoy live local Hawaiian music, hula performances entertainment and much more!

Hawaii Now Host Jobeth Devera went to check out two of the regular vendors at the farmers market: AshleyRose Clothing and Once Again Hawaii.

AshleyRose Clothing specializes in quality, handmade garments for children ages 0 months to 6 years old. Owner Ashely Rose cuts and sews all the garments locally in Hawaii using only the highest quality fabrics and provides jobs to women with children, hard-working students and innovative individuals eager to improve the environment through thoughtful design.

Once Again is a family-owned business in Waimanalo. Primarily a nursery, it specializes in plants from desert and arid conditions: succulents, cactus and air plants. Once Again is also environmentally responsible. It recycles commonly discarded items such as dishware, glass bottles, and reclaimed wood and repurposes them into planters and gardening vessels.
