Dalgona Coffee: HI Now hosts whip up the latest coffee trend

All you need is three ingredients!

No Starbucks, no problem! If you’re a coffee fan, you’ve probably seen the photos taking social media by storm as everyone tries to make their own version of Dalgona Coffee — a creamy, whipped coffee trend that uses just three ingredients! HI Now hosts Kanoe Gibson and Kainoa Carlson are in the kitchen giving the recipe a try.

Whether you like hot or iced coffee, don’t worry — this recipe can be made both ways. Just make sure the milk you’re using is your desired temperature, as this will be the base of your drink. You can even use it as a topping on other dishes like banana bread, waffles, or even brownies! Have fun and get creative with the dishes you’re whipping up at home.

While you can make Dalgona Coffee by hand, it can take a while, and you’ll definitely get in an arm workout! The easiest way to whip up your coffee is by using either a hand or stand mixer if you have one at home.

Recipe: Dalgona Coffee


2 tablespoons instant coffee

2 tablespoons sugar

2 tablespoons boiling water

1 cup milk



1) Add 2 tablespoons of instant coffee, 2 tablespoons of sugar and 2 tablespoons of boiling water into a bowl

2) Using a hand mixer, whisk the ingredients together for anywhere from 2 to 5 minutes

3) Once you’ve got the mixture to the correct creamy consistency, add a dollop on top of a glass of milk

4) Mix it all together and enjoy!
