It’s the burger joint you’ve been waiting for! HI Now host Kanoe Gibson is checking out Chubbies Burgers to see what makes its classic smash burgers so addicting.

If you’ve ever been to Ward Village, you may have spotted the Chubbies food truck in the parking lot near Jamba Juice and Ohana Hale Market. The burger truck is open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., so you’ve got plenty of time to get your fix — breakfast, lunch, or dinner!

Chubbies proudly serves Kunoa Cattle local grass-fed beef from Kauai, and each of its burgers are served on a toasted house-made potato bun. If you’re more of a classic burger lover, go for the 50’s Burger. The local beef patty comes topped with American cheese, lettuce and tomato, along with the trucks’ signature 50s sauce. For those looking for some crunch, try the El Rey! The panko red onion ring and avocado are what makes this burger so delicious, and it’s finished off with some spicy pepper-jack cheese and a garlic ranch sauce. Finally, there’s the Ten Gallon — and it lives up to its name! The massive patty is topped with bacon, grilled onions, cheddar cheese and a house BBQ sauce. You’ll want to come hungry!

You can’t have a burger without fries, right? Chubbies knows this, and the food truck has a number of delicious options. You’ll find classic crinkle fries, always served crispy. However, if you’re looking for something more, check out the Chub Fries — crinkle fries topped with cheddar cheese, grilled onions, and a specialty fry sauce. You won’t be able to stop eating! And there’s even one more option on the menu — Bacon Fries. Aside from the obvious bacon, this spicy option comes with pepper jack cheese, green onions, and a jalapeno aioli. Don’t worry, it’s mild!

Chubbies is also rolling out new menu items, so be on the lookout!
