Can you say $5 Mai Tais Cocktail?

There are a lot of good eats in Kailua, but Uahi Island Grill has been a staple in the neighborhood for over a decade. HI Now host Jobeth Devera is on the windward side checking out the restaurant’s new happy hour menu.
Uahi Island Grill opened its doors in 2007 and strives to serve delicious, fresh island flavors using wholesome, house-made products and local produce whenever possible. In addition to this mission, Uahi Island Grill has always stressed sustainability, so all of its take out boxes, bags, cups, lids, straws, and utensils are made from bio-compostable materials.
In 2014, the restaurant was featured on Guy Fieri’s “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives,” which showcased some of its most popular dishes: The red curry fish and the Mandarin duck confit.
You’ll find no shortage of deals during the restaurant’s daily happy hour from 3 – 6 p.m. Get Longboards, Coronas, and Stellas for $3, or house wines for $4. But the best deal in the house? Probably its $5 mai tai.
When it comes to beer, you’ll find an extensive collection. Uahi Island Grill offers 14 different kinds, all in cans or bottles, and also features two rotating seasonal beers. If you’re looking for something sweeter, try some of its signature cocktails: Cucumber Calamnsi Mule, Lilikoi Rita, Awapuhi Punch, and the Chocolate Macadamia Nut Martini.
Catering a party? Uahi Island Grill also offers several different catering options. Whether you’re just looking to pick up food at the restaurant or a buffet set up, the restaurant is happy to accommodate.
Uahi Island Grill is open Monday- Friday from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m and on Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. You can also try out its brunch menu during the weekend from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
