HI Now hosts Kanoe Gibson and Kainoa Carlson are back with another edition of Check Out ‘N’ Take Out featuring businesses from around the islands that are open for business! With Check Out ‘N’ Take out on Hawaii News Now, you can always find out which restaurants and businesses are open in your community.
First up, a look at some ono food from Mark’s Place! The takeout restaurant is located in the Puhi Industrial Center serving up some delicious local food, including gourmet plate lunches, bentos, salads, desserts and omiyage snacks! Locally owned and operated since 1998 and led by Chef Mark Oyama, Mark’s Place has been widely named one of Kauai’s best food establishments.
One item you can’t miss is the smoked ahi dip, which flies off the shelves weekly! Kamaboko dip, pickled onions, pickled warabi, dried ahi and Sakura Boshi are some other pupu items that Mark’s Place now features. Got a sweet tooth or a birthday coming up? Call Mark’s Place for a special cake or dessert. Mark’s Place is open Monday – Friday, serving meals from 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Up next, Hanalei Taro is offering farm fresh food from its over 100 year old, six generation family farm — and it can be delivered it straight to your door! You can order farm fresh poi, kulolo, taro mochi cake, Hanalei taro burgers, cooked taro and more! All you have to do is order online at HanaleiTaro.com weekly by Friday at midnight so that your order can be harvested and shipped by Wednesday. Hanalei Taro will also harvest and deliver across the United States, so you can even gift their products to others online as well.
