Celebrating Japan’s most celebrated drink, Sake!

The Joy of Sake

Since the first Japanese immigrants hit the shores of Hawaii, Sake has been a favorite drink among locals. Today, Honolulu boasts more sake-serving restaurants per capita than any other city in the country. The Joy of Sake is a festival celebrating this special wine made from rice, which will feature hundreds of varieties of the drink. The event is still a month away but tickets sell out quickly every  year. Coordinator Mari Taketa tells us more about the tastings, which includes exclusive Sake brands from Japan and savory dishes from some of Hawaii’s premier chefs.
