17-year-old Beri Maeda has been baking since she was nine. At 14, after gradually developing her skills, she started selling cupcakes. Then about a year ago, she opened her very own business. HI Now host Kanoe Gibson got a lesson on how to decorate her delicious treats.

Maeda currently offers monthly Cupcake Days in which set boxes of six cupcakes are available for pre-order and pickup. Each box has 2-3 flavors that are normally themed around a season or holiday. Looking to place an order? Notifications for upcoming Cupcake Days are posted on her Instagram @bakedbyberi and at bakedbyber.com.

Maeda also offers custom orders which can be placed by direct messaging her on Instagram or by emailing bakedbyberi@gmail.com. However, before the summer starts, she hopes to find a storefront with a kitchen to open a pop-up.

“I look forward to offering my cupcakes in my store as well as continuing to offer them on my Instagram page and website,” she says.

After the summer, Maeda plans to continue offering Cupcake Days and custom orders throughout her senior year. She also plans to bring her business Baked By Beri with her to college.
