Next virtual open house will take place on April 24, 2021

Assets School is transforming lives by offering a world-class education from specialty-trained faculty in a nurturing environment for children, Kindergarten through 12th grade. Assets is celebrating its 65th year of educating children with a 65th Anniversary TV special that will educate the community about giftedness, dyslexia, and learning differences alongside a Tuition Assistance Fundraiser and Auction to help the nearly 40 percent of students who need financial aid.
Assets is one of the few schools in the nation that specializes in students with language-based learning differences like dyslexia. The schools offers specialized learning opportunities for bright, capable, and sometimes gifted kids that may think and learn differently.
An Assets education often transforms a student and the family. Students are often misunderstood in traditional schools, and sometimes dyslexia and other learning difference have not been identified. Assets meets students at their level and is unique because school counselors are part of every fabric of the child’s journey in school where social-emotional well being becomes a daily top priority.
Assets is still accepting applications for the next school year. Its next virtual open house will take place on April 24, 2021. After the school’s last open house, some families were so excited about Assets that they joined the school that very year. Assets also offers private tours of its campuses due to the pandemic. There are also Summer School offerings for children K-12th grade.
“We were fortunate to be among the first private schools to re-open due to our 8 to 1 student to teacher ratio, spacious campuses and easy ability to social distance. And we are so grateful to our frontline hero teachers who really did an outstanding job with distance learning,” says Head of School Ryan Masa. “Our families have been hit the hardest, and we are now at nearly 40 percent of our students needing financial assistance. That is why we decided to take our annual Tuition Assistance Fundraiser known as Illumination to a new level as well as educate the community about Assets 65 years of transforming lives.”
“Assets School – Celebrating 65 Years of Transforming Lives” will be broadcast on Hawaii News Now stations and premiere on April 14 at 8 p.m. on K5. You can also watch it again on April 17 at 6 p.m. on KGMB and April 18 at 4 p.m. on KHNL.
“We are grateful to The Queen’s Health Systems for helping to make this show possible and to all of our sponsors supporting our need to raise funds for Tuition Assistance,” says Masa.
Within the show, the school will feature some auction items that range from neighbor island staycations, jewelry, art and much more. Viewers can go to assets-school.org to learn more about the school and the event or go straight to the auction by going to AssetsSchool.givesmart.com.
